Sometimes mastering a project yourself makes sense when the budget won’t permit for a dedicated engineer or the timeline for a project becomes compromised, however mastering a project yourself can make you tear your hair out without well-suited tools that will make the process more fluent and easy to navigate;

Primarily a Mastering Engineer; I never really pushed mixing; I started off working on around a dozen mixing projects a year back in 2014; to now in 2021; my demand being built up to mixing over 70 projects a year on-top of my busy mastering schedule;

What should your receive back from your mastering engineer?

I posted my chain I was using in 2020, and I loved making records with that set up and those tools; but at the start of 2021 I made a list of the new tools and processors for mastering which I've been progressively trialing; analysing, and going over a fine tooth comb.
